AIMO comes to Vietnam
In an exciting development, 467 Vietnamese students participated in the Australian Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad last week. Organised centrally at the Cau Giay Lower Secondary School in Hanoi by Vietnamese AMT contact Dr Tri Ta, students came from 23 different schools. Students who gathered for the contest received a celebration T-shirt!
The AIMO is an open competition for students in years 7—10.
This event follows on from the first local sitting of the Australian Mathematics Competition in July. This was located at the Hanoi Star School; there were 1234 participants, the large majority of whom were primary school students. More than half of these received a Credit or above award. Congratulations!
We look forward to more engagement with Vietnamese young people in the fields of mathematics and informatics.
