Australian Statistics Project Competition 2012

Results are now known for the 2012 Australian Statistics Project Competition. This competition is sponsored by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Junior Secondary

Junior Secondary National prize ($240)

NSW prize ($120): Does reaction time differ with gender in Yr 9 students? Kris Heuston, Josh McFarland and Jay Small, Year 9, Melville High School.
Highly Commended: Which sibling gets the best phone?, Jaime Baker, Alexandria Rix and Sarah Norton, Year 9, Melville High School.

Queensland prize ($120): Analysis of Australian Cricket batting Performance 2010 & 2011, Amjad Aslam and Samuel Davison, Year 8, St Luke's Anglican School
Highly Commended: Statistics at work in Gladstone Alexander Campbell, Year 8, St Luke's Anglican School.

Victoria prize ($120): Fruit, Isobel Grounds and Graydon Cannavan-Forbes, Year 8, Albert Park College.
Highly Commended: Fabric and Sense, Anya Scoble-Hansen, Lydia McKeown-West and Lili Li, Year 7, Albert Park College.
Highly Commended: On time, Erika Palomares, Kasper Leth-Wahl and Campbell Rider, Year 8, Albert Park College.

Western Australia prize ($120): What happens when we age? Reaction times of different age group, Grace Stubbs and Dayna Jacob, Year 8, Australind Senior High School.
