Professor Wolfgang Engel, of the University of Rostock,
who received his Paul Erdös Award in Germany in August 1998
from Dr Tony Gardiner, Vice-President of WFNMC. He is
seen (left) with his colleague, Professor Hans-Dietrich (Dieter)
Gronau, at the University of Rostock, with his Award.
Dieter notes that the photo is
in front of the main entrance to the main building of
Rostock University,
which is actually the oldest in Northern Europe, founded in
1419! Also the mathematicians work in that building,
just in the centre of Rostock.
