At the heart of our vision to help students to reach their mathematical potential are the teachers and schools who offer our competitions and programs.
All of the competitions are fun and engaging, with many of the problems set in situations familiar to students and showing the relevance of mathematics and informatics in their everyday lives. The problems are also designed to stimulate discussion and can be used by teachers and students as springboards for investigation.
Prices and key dates are mailed out to schools annually.
Schools receive a discounted price when entering students into both the CAT and AMC competitions.
Price per student: Australian schools $10.00, NZ schools AUD9.50, Singapore schools SGD17.00. Other countries, contact AMT.
Please enter students by 14 March (24 February for overseas schools).
Note: These prices apply to schools within Australia only and include GST. For more information about overseas pricing, head to our Prices and Key Dates page.
All open competitions and programs can be entered online.
Each year your school is sent a school code and a password for using our online registration system. If you do not have a record of this information please contact our office directly. The school code does not change year to year but the password changes annually.
The Australian Mathematics Trust has been conducting a series of Teacher workshops in most states and territories. Our workshops are accredited through partner organisations to provide Institute Registered professional development for the maintenance of accreditation at Proficient Teacher/Professional Competence.
Contact AMT if you’re interested in workshops in your area or in hosting workshops.
To prepare students for both the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) and Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT), the GetSet online training program, offer problem sets and timed practice sets to give students an experience of what they will face in the competitions.
AMT Publishing offers a range of books, past papers and merchandise. Our publications include collections of problems of all standards with their solutions as well as pedagogical materials and problem-solving books.
