  AMSI Award for Taylor

First posted Wednesday 04 July 2012.

[Peter]

The Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI) celebrated its 10th anniversary in Melbourne on 28 June.

As part of its anniversary the Institute announced a new Distinguished Service Award, and made 6 inaugural presentations. These went to Dr Jim Lewis, Professor Garth Gaudry, Ms Jan Thomas, Dr Tony Guttman, Professor Peter Hall and AMT Executive Director Professor Peter Taylor. Professor Taylor is shown receiving his award from Board Chairman Dr Ron Sandland AM. All recipients were closely associated with the founding of AMSI in some way. Professor Taylor was Inaugural Chair of AMSI's Education Advisory Committee, which established among other things the ICE-EM texts, and held the position until June 2011.
